Frederick Buel was born in Litchfield on September 28, 1797. He was the son of Salmon and Lydia (Marsh) Buell. On October 6, 1819, Frederick married Julia A. Benton. They had no children. On August 29, 1861, Frederick married Elizabeth C. Hall. They had no children. Frederick died on October 23, 1863.
