I just wanted to send a quick message before the clock strikes midnight to tell you all how much this year has meant to me. You guys showed up time and again, whether it was for a degree, a fundraiser, a cookout, or just to lend a hand when someone needed it. The laughs around the table after lodge, the stories swapped in the parking lot, the way we look out for each other, that’s what makes Annawon feel like home. I’m lucky to be your Worshipful Master and even luckier to count you as brothers and friends. With our upcoming November gatherings, I'm writing to invite your help in collecting key donations for two important local groups aiding West Haven residents. This initiative is spearheaded by Brother Scott Shappy, whose thoughtful planning will ensure our efforts reach those who need them most.
We're encouraging every brother to contribute non-perishable foods like canned vegetables, dry pasta, rice, peanut butter, and shelf-stable entrees. These will go straight to WHEAT, Inc. (West Haven Emergency Assistance Team), offering vital nutrition to individuals and families battling hunger.
We're also seeking new, sealed hygiene and household basics such as dish soap, laundry detergent, deodorant, shampoo, toothpaste, bar soap, and menstrual products. These donations will support the McKinney-Vento Program at the West Haven Community House, helping homeless families with kids in our local schools access everyday essentials.

| Brothers- The Annawon Lodge #115 Fellowcraft Club annual trek to a Yale Football Game is this Saturday October 25th when Yale (3-2) plays Penn (4-1) at 12:00 p.m. All Brothers and their friends & family are invited! We will congregate at 9:45 a.m. in the Lodge parking lot and will caravan to the game by 10:00 a.m. The Fellowcraft Club will cover the ticket cost for Brothers who have paid their 2025 Fellowcraft Club dues. Otherwise bring $15 for your Fellowcraft Club 2025 dues and your game ticket cost will be covered. We encourage you to bring your friends and family to the game to share in the fun of the day. You can purchase your tickets prior to the game, at the ticket window outside the Yale Bowl, if you are not a Fellowcraft Club member. This is a great relaxing day to be with the Brothers outside of a tiled Lodge and enjoy the football, the conversation, the scenery, the crowd and of course the food and beverages! | Brethren, The roll of the workmen has been called, and one Master Mason, Brother Paul F. Stacoffe, has not answered to his name. He has laid down the working tools of life and with them has left that mortal part for which he no longer has use. Brother Paul F. Stacoffe passed away on Saturday 5/31/2025. He was born on 9/30/1949 in New Haven, CT. He took his Entered Apprentice Degree on 11/9/1970, Fellowcraft Degree on 12/14/1970 and Master Mason Degree on 12/21/1970. He was a Master Mason for 54 years and an Air Force Veteran. Among his survivors is his Brother Gary R. Stacoffe, also a member of Annawon Lodge #115. Annawon Lodge #115 will have a Masonic Memorial Service during our Stated Communication on Monday 6/9/2025. Please try to be present for our meeting this coming Monday to honor Brother Paul F. | ALL ANNAWON LODGE BROTHERS- Tonight, Monday 6/2/25, the ANNAWON LODGE FELLOWCRAFT CLUB is having their monthly meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Lodge Hall. The Fellowcraft Club meetings are open to ALL Annawon Lodge Members. Matter of fact, we also offer membership to members of other Masonic Lodges in Connecticut!!! Please note that the Annawon Lodge Fellowcraft Club is a function of Annawon Lodge as a whole and is the social arm of the Worshipful Master. The Fellowcraft Club plans and organizes the majority of the social and civic functions for Annawon Lodge. Thus, by joining the Fellowcraft Club, you are supporting Annawon Lodge and all its functions as well. The annual dues for the Fellowcraft Club are $15.00- which is $1.25/month. | Brothers, Annawon Lodge #115 will be observing Memorial Day by marching in the West Haven Memorial Day Parade on Monday 5/26/25. We will congregate at the Lodge by 9:00 a.m. At 9:20 a.m. we have a bus that will transport us from the Lodge to the beginning of the parade route on Captain Thomas Boulevard. All Brothers from Annawon Lodge or any other Lodge or invited to march in the parade with us. All Lodge Officers are asked to wear a Tuxedo if marching in the parade. All other Brothers are asked to wear a dark suit and tie. The parade route ends on Center Street across from our old Lodge building. We typically try to get a picture in front of that building at 306 Center Street. Many Brothers will then head to the West Haven Green for the Memorial Day Observance Ceremony. All Brothers are asked to come to the Lodge after the parade for our Memorial Day Picnic. The Lodge and our Fellowcraft Club will supply hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, non-alcoholic beverages and more. We do encourage all Brothers to bring their own special picnic delicacy, including desserts, to share with everyone at the picnic. There is no charge for the picnic. | Brothers, As many of you know, Brother Jim Butler's has health issues, specifically with a lung condition where he needs an oxygen tank and has a hard time getting around. He no longer drives and rarely gets out of his house now. We are going to visit Jim at his home on Tuesday 5/13/25. We plan to get there anytime between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. and staying for 1-2 hours. Everyone can arrive and leave on their own schedule, but we definitely want to leave by 7:30-8 so that Jim can get his rest. | Brothers, We are saddened to report that Past Master Charles Wilbur Jefferson Jr. passed away on Thursday January 30th. WB Jefferson was raised in 1978, was Worshipful Master in 1984 and had 35 years of active Masonic service. I spoke with his Widow Susan Dineen, who had contacted me to make the Lodge aware of his passing. She said that although he had not been an active in Masonry since 2013, he always held Masonry in high esteem. They both came from Masonic families with Susan's father having been a Mason for 75 years. Susan plans to donate much of Charlie's Masonic items to Annawon Lodge, including his Apron, Jewels and Bible, in the near future. There will be no Wake or Funeral, per WB Charlie's request. WB Charlie and his family loved camping in Rhode Island and Charlie asking that his cremains be spread at their campgrounds where they shared many great memories. Born on October 18, 1929 in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Robert M and Blanche Rubright Warner. Shortly after moving to Connecticut in 1950, David met his wife, Edith Ringwall. They were married in 1951 and were blessed with 71 years together before she passed away in 2022. David grew up in Philadelphia. Active in Boy Scouts, he became an Eagle Scout. Upon graduation from high school, David joined the Navy Reserves. He worked for National Theater Supply and then for Connecticut Blue Cross and Blue Shield for 35 years as a marketing representative. He managed many of Connecticut's largest municipal accounts. For more than 70 years, David was a member of Annawon Lodge # 115, Fraternal order of Masons. He enjoyed drawing, painting and photography, developing many photos in his basement darkroom before embracing digital photography and color printing. His family and friends have many photos taken and printed by David! David is survived by his 3 children, Deborah Smith (Matthew), Barbara Heafy (Matthew) and Gary Warner (Carol). He leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 16 grandchildren, having met the youngest just last week. Grandchildren are Rachel Gryak (Jonathan), Jessie Richart (Ross), David Smith (April), Ryan Heafy (Amanda), Justin Heafy (Katelyn), Lauren Tapia (Juan Carlos), Christopher Warner (Paola) and Julieanne Ferguson (Patrick); great grandchildren include Noah, Lily and Isaiah Richart; Kayla, Andrew, Nathaniel, and Natalie Smith; Callum Heafy; Jack and Andrew Heafy; Cecilia and Rafael Tapia; Joshua and Emma Warner; and Owen and Claire Ferguson. David's family was very important to him. He showered us with all his wisdom, love and generosity. We will miss him dearly. A service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the West Haven Funeral Home at the green, 662 Savin Avenue. "Jay" Borelli, 63, of West Haven, passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2025, while traveling back from Europe with his wife. Jay is survived by his wife, Margaret Stamatien Borelli; children, Nicholas (Francesca) and Christopher of West Haven, Benjamin (Annamarie) of Haddam, Gabriel (Ryan) of Hyattsville, Maryland, Jeremy of West Haven, and Angela of Worcester; grandson, Daniel; and sister, Ann Marie "Amy" Zingaro (Alan) of Milford. Born in New Haven, Jay attended Saint Louis for grade school and graduated from Notre Dame of West Haven in 1979. Jay then attended the University of New Haven, where he got his BA in Business Administration and Management. He met the love of his life, Margaret, while working for MediMart. Jay was a man of many talents, but he had an exceptional work ethic and was tirelessly committed to serving others. He spent over 35 years as store manager at Walgreens, including 6 as a community leader. He later shifted to a financial advisor position with Edward Jones at his office in North Haven, delivering personalized services and care to a wide range of clients. Jay was especially passionate about giving to his community. He proudly served as a member on the Yale New Haven Hospital Auxiliary Board, volunteered at the local church carnival for more than a decade, regularly donated blood to Red Cross, and raised thousands of dollars in funds for causes that included the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society, and Walk to End Alzheimer's. Most of all, Jay was a selfless man, devoted to his family of 8. Few things gave Jay more joy than zigzagging across the Northeast to attend his six kids' hockey, soccer, and lacrosse games. He was extremely proud of their accomplishments and would not hesitate to "make the rounds" when meeting new people or catching up with friends, meticulously listing off their accomplishments and effortlessly remembering what they were up to in their day-to-day lives. Jay found joy in traveling with his wife and spending time in Vermont at his cottage at Shadow Lake with his kids and family. He also loved spending time with his sister, many cousins, aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews, lighting up parties and family events with his conversations. | Good Evening All Tomorrow, Saturday 11/16, the Annawon Lodge #115 A.F & A.M. Fellowcraft Club will be trekking to our annual Yale Football game get together. Yale is playing Princeton. We will meet in the Lodge parking lot at 263 Center Street between 9:30 a.m.-10:00 a.m. At 10:00 a.m. we will caravan to Yale Field where we will tailgate until around 11:30 a.m. and then head into the game for its start at 12:00 p.m. This fun event is open to all Fellowcraft Club members, as well as all other Brothers, their wives, girlfriends, brothers, sisters, children etc. We like this to be a relaxing family affair. Tickets will be purchased when we enter Yale Bowl. This is a great event for Brotherhood, Friendship and Comradery that the Annawon Lodge Fellowcraft Club has been having for a couple of decades. | Annawon Lodge #115 Brothers, Appendant & Concordant Bodies of Annawon Lodge #115 and families, In only 1 day we will be having our annual Annawon Lodge #115 picnic at the Lodge located at 263 Center Street in West Haven. Our picnic will start at noon tomorrow and go until dusk for all to enjoy fellowship and brotherhood at our growing Lodge. There will be no charge! Annawon Lodge #115 and our Fellowcraft Club will be supplying hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, buns, condiments, water, soda, utensils and paper goods. We are asking everyone that comes to the picnic to kindly bring the remaining items that are a part of usual picnic far. That includes garden salad, potato salad, macaroni salad, bean salad, cakes, cookies, chips, dip, ice cream and any other pot luck items that we all will love. We also ask individuals that would like to drink anything aside from water or soda to supply their own. In 36 hours, our Fellowcraft Club members and Annawon Lodge Brothers in general are all invited to come with us to the Yale vs. Sacred Heart football game at the Yale Bowl. We would love to see a group of 12 or more Brothers meet us for the game,including our NEW MASTER MASONS!. On Saturday, 10/14/23, the Annawon Lodge #115 Fellowcraft Club will be going to the Sacred Heart vs. Yale Football Game. We will be congregating at 9:30 a.m. in the Annawon Lodge #115 parking lot. We will then caravan to Yale Field for the game with expect arrival of 10:00 a.m.. We encourage everyone to bring any snacks/refreshments to be shared amongst the Brothers. Also WPLR annually has a tent where they provide coffee, donuts, danish, soup etc., along with some good music, at no charge. We will go into the Yale Bowl Field by around 11:30 a.m. to get in our seats.
The Fellowcraft Club will cover $10 of the ticket cost for each Fellowcraft Club member. This event is open to all members of Annawon Lodge and a signicant other, child etc. Anyone that is not a Fellowcraft Club member will have to pay for their own ticket(s), but the Brotherhood shared at the game will be priceless! If you would like to become a member of the Fellowcraft Club please see a Fellowcraft Club officer to fill out an application. Annual dues are only $15 or $1.25/month. This is less than the cost of your morning coffee!

On Sunday 8/6/23, Annawon Lodge #115 will be having our summer picnic at the Lodge located at 263 Center Street in West Haven. The picnic starts at 12:00 noon and will go until around 6:00 p.m.-dusk.
The Annawon Lodge Officers, in conjunction with the Fellowcraft Club Officers, will be setting up the picnic, cooking the food and breaking down the picnic. Annawon Lodge/Fellowcraft Club will supply the hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken, water, nonalcoholic beverages, ice, buns, condiments and likely more. We ask that everyone that comes to the picnic kindly bring your favorite homemade pot luck dish for everyone to enjoy. Other items that can be brought are potato chips, pretzels, tortilla chips, dip, salsa, salads, desserts and more. Please also feel free to bring games to play, including cornhole boards if you have them.
There is no cost for the picnic. Brothers, Candidates and their immediate families are welcome! We appreciate receiving a count of how many people will be coming so we have enough food.

Richard C. Memmott, Sr., Ret. WHFD, age 78, of West Haven, passed away July 3, 2023. Born in New Haven August 15, 1944, he was the son of the late Charles J. Memmott, Jr. & Ruth (Smith) Memmott. Richard is survived by his wife Wendy (Dockery) Memmott; his sons, Richard C. Memmott, Jr. & his wife Cheryl of Branford and Michael Memmott & his wife Jessica of Bristol; stepdaughters Julianna & Marissa deNicolo of West Haven; grandchildren Sarah, Ashley, Paige, James & Mikayla Memmott; and nephew Raymond Memmott & his wife Jodi and their children Arlyn & Rachael of West Haven. He was predeceased by his sister Linda R. Memmott. Dick retired after 26 years with the WHFD; he went on with a second career at Masonicare in Wallingford for over 20 years as Director of Community Services. He also worked part-time at Beecher & Bennett Funeral Home for many years. Richard was an Army Veteran of the Connecticut National Guard.
Richard was Past Master Councilor and a Past Advisor of West Haven (now Robert H. Heller) Chapter of the Order of DeMolay being invested with the Degree of Chevalier and elevated to the rank of Legion of Honor. He made significant contributions to the Connecticut Ancient Free & Accepted Masons for over 56 years. Richard held many subordinate offices in Annawon No. 115 prior to his election as Worshipful Master in 1982 and then again in 1998. He also served as Chaplain, Treasurer, Secretary, and Historian. He was appointed to several Grand Lodge committees, including: Masonic Culture & Public Relations, Custodians of the Work, Honors & Awards, New England Brotherhood, and Chairman for the Credentials & Grand Lodge Session Preparation Committees. In addition, Richard held many Grand Lodge Offices including Associate Grand Marshal 1985 -1986, District Deputy 1990 – 1991, Grand Tiler 1998 – 2016 (elected Grand Tiler Emeritus 2016), and Grand Secretary 2016 – 2018. In 1998, he was awarded the Pierpont Edwards in Bronze and in 2008 he was coroneted with the Scottish Rite’s honorary 33° for Distinguished Service to Humanity. He was a charter member of Ashlar No. 332, a Past Patron of Golden Rod Chapter #34 O.E.S, and a member of many other concordant and appendant Masonic Bodies. Richard also had a lifelong passion for genealogy. He leaves behind a significantly rich body of generational research and will be remembered as someone who was eager to assist and encourage others in their personal discoveries.
Friends may visit with his family at Porto Funeral Home, 830 Jones Hill Road, West Haven on Friday July 7th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, during this time at 6:30 pm a Masonic Service will be held. All are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Saturday by going directly to First & Wesley United Methodist Church, 89 Center St. West Haven at 10:00 am. The roll of the workman has been called and one Master Mason has not answered to the call of his name. Right Worshipful Brother Richard "Dick" Memmott Sr. passed away this morning at the age of 78. Brother Memmott Sr. had over 56 years of Masonic Service to Annawon Lodge #115, as well as the Grand Lodge of CT, Columbia Lodge #25 and Ashlar #332.
Brother Memmott Sr. served as Worshipful Master of Annawon Lodge #115 in 1982 and 1998, as Associate Grand Marshal of District 4A from 1985-1987, as District Deputy of District 4B from 1990-1992, Grand Tiler from 1998-2016, as well as serving in other Officer positions and on Committees for Grand Lodge. He exemplified Masonry to all that he came in contact with and will be sorely missed.

As you know, each year we send out the annual dues bill at the first of the year, asking for your dues to be paid upon receipt of said bill. As of today, Tuesday 6/27/23, we still have 18 Brothers that are outstanding on their dues. Paying your dues helps Annawon Lodge to meet its financial responsibilities.
It would be appreciated if these 18 Brothers can send their dues check in, made payable to Annawon Lodge #115 A.F. & A.M. If it is within the reach of your cabletow, it would be even better to see you in Lodge and you can pay us via cash or check in person. This way you can enjoy a nice Lodge meeting and get to see the Brothers. We will be having a Fellowcraft Degree on Monday July 10th if you can make it.

The American flag will be presented by Saint Elmos's Commandery. A brunch featuring housemade perogies will be served immediately following the service for a suggested donation of $10. All procedes will be donated to the Eastern Star.

We had 30 bowlers participate to help us towards our goal of helping the local "Project Hope" soup kitchen. We have preliminary numbers, but are waiting on some donations that were offered to "pay by pin" where bowlers were sponsored. We will share the final tally when it is 100% official.
