ANNAWON LODGE #115  A.F. & A.M.

Greetings Brethren:

First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to thank those of you that attended and participated in last month’s Fellowcraft Degree.  Congratulations officers on demonstrating great floor work.  Practice indeed makes perfect.

Our May 14th Stated Communication will be Ladies Night.  We will open lodge at 6:30, go into refreshment and have dinner with our ladies (wives, girlfriends, daughters, etc)  We will also take this opportunity to honor the widows of Annawon Lodge.  Dinner is $15.00 per person. There will be no charge for Lodge widows. Please RSVP to Junior Warden Kyle Podpolucha at 203-427-5289.

We will not have a Stated Communication on May 28th due to Memorial Day.  We will however be marching in the West Haven Memorial Day Parade. My car will be available for brothers that may not be able to march due to lack of physical capabilities .  I am also welcoming DeMolay to march with us. Step off is at 10:30.  We will meet at a location to be determined.

It is my hope that we will have a family picnic at the Lodge following the parade.  Details to follow.

Fraternally,
Steven R. Mullins
Worshipful Master

Golden Rod Chapter #34, O.E.S.

Greetings Sisters and Brothers,

This month, we will honor mothers at our regular meeting. Sisters Carol Memmott, PM, and Effie Yarrington, PM, will be providing the refreshments for the evening.

Our basket for the Grand Chapter Session was made by Sister Shirley Serrano, PM, and myself. Our Worthy Patron, Brother Bill Barr delivered the basket on Thursday morning, and he, Brother Bruce Bellmore, PP, and I attended the Grand Chapter Session.

Our annual dinner will be held on Sunday June 24, 2018 at 4PM. There will be a sign-up sheet for what dishes you are bringing and what you will be doing to make it successful at the May meeting.

If you are unable to attend our meeting, please notify the Worthy Patron or me.

Fraternally,
Worthy Matron – Jane Thomson, PM
Worthy Patron – William K. Barr, PGP

ANNAWON FELLOWCRAFT CLUB

Brethren & Friends,

On Friday March 30, 2018 we had 16 attend the CT Freemason Family Day at the XL Center in Hartford. Some of us went to City Steam before the game for appetizers and beer. A great time was had by all except the Hartford Wolf Pack who lost to the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penquins.

Our springtime Beef & Beer Fest is Friday May 4th from 6 – 9pm. This will be a ticketed event. For the ticket price of $25 you will get all-you-can-eat Roast Beef, NY Hard Rolls, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Gravy, Au Jus, Horseradish and all the condiments coupled with ice cold beer on tap. We will have a 50/50 Raffle. This is a public event and fundraiser for the FC Club. Invite your family and friends 21 or older. For tickets or more information call Frank 203-606-4959 or Dennis 203-233-2328. Fellow Craft Club Officers will have tickets also. There are limited tickets available!!

Sunday June 3 is our Souper Duckpin Bowling Tournament from 1-4pm at Woodlawn Duckpin Lanes to benefit Project Hope, our own West Haven Soup Kitchen. Bowl a game, have Pizza and Soda and play another game. This is one of those events that seems like too much fun to be charitable!!

The FC Club sponsors a Bike Night at the Valley Diner every year. This years Bike Night is Monday July 16 from 6-9pm. There will be music, raffle prizes, 50/50 and more. We will have a table set up with information on our charitable work since we will be asking the bikers for donations.

Please mark these dates in your calendar. As always, your participation is the key that unlocks the fun!!!

TEMPLE BUILDING ASSOCIATION

Thank You to everyone who came out to help at our lodge clean up. This article is due before clean up so I can’t name names until next month. Also thank you to all who attended our Annual Meeting. Our roof was fine all winter but that rain we had March 15. The roof leaked at one of the scuppers. I don’t know what, at this point, is causing the problem. I am waiting on the roofer to come check things out. The TBA would like to congratulate our 2018 Mason of the Year, Jim Jennette. Again, the chair plates are in. Contact me if there is a specific chair you would like your plate on. If we do not hear by the time we go dark we will select your spot. Again thank you to everyone for their efforts in keeping the lodge clean.

Gerald Calibritto, TBA President
