In the Community
The Brothers of Waxhaw Lodge No. 562 are part of the town, not just the building on Main Street. Here are a few of the things we do.
Waxhaw Fourth of July Parade
The lodge has ridden in the town's Fourth of July parade with a float supporting the Masonic Home for Children at Oxford.
Local events
In 2026 the lodge sponsored the Waxhaw Women's Club Pop-Top Checkers Tournament, held during Historic Waxhaw's summer events.
Masonic charities
North Carolina Masons support two homes through the North Carolina Masonic Foundation:
- The Masonic Home for Children at Oxford, which opened in 1873 as the first children's home in North Carolina
- WhiteStone, a Masonic and Eastern Star community in Greensboro for older adults
Christmas
The lodge takes part in the Town of Waxhaw Christmas Parade, and Santa has stopped by the lodge to visit with Brothers and their families.
Wreaths Across America
Brothers have joined the Town of Waxhaw at Southside Cemetery for Wreaths Across America to honor our veterans.
Lodges on the Air
Brothers who are ham radio operators have set up a station at the lodge to take part in Lodges on the Air, making contact with other Masonic lodges over the radio.
