Local Prince Hall Lodges and O.E.S. Chapters

Here in Utah, there are two Prince Hall Masonic Lodges and two Order of the Eastern Star Chapters under the umbrella of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Colorado and its Jurisdictions. They are Mount Ogden Lodge #20 and Queen of the West Chapter #17, O.E.S. (PHA) both homed in Ogden and High Marine Lodge #12, and Queen Esther Chapter #2, O.E.S. (PHA) located in Salt Lake City. Both Utah Prince Hall Masons and the F&AM Masons of the Utah Grand Lodge are joined in a close fraternal relationship under a compact between the two Grand Lodges.

Our Lodges/Chapters work in partnership with local churches and other organizations in efforts to improve and uplift our community. We support church-directed youth programs such as vacation bible school and holiday programs where we provide food and special gifts for our youth as they participate in faith-based activities. We also provide chaperones and activity leaders during church-sponsored summer camping trips (Angel Tree Camp) for troubled youth. We also support the local Homeless Veterans programs.

We collect and donate clothes and other items to the homeless, prepare holiday meals, purchase, prepare and serve food for an annual breakfast and also participate in a parade at a local veterans retirement home. The dedicated men and women of our fraternal orders support our community by participating in these and many other events and programs. A major local program that we support is “Circles.”

Circles is a local government-funded program that helps families and communities work together to overcome the challenges of poverty. Circles inspire, equip and empower families by providing services and best practices in several disciplines including community organizing, case management, grassroots leadership, financial literacy, peer-to-peer counseling and learning, and child/youth development.
