Freemasonry is acccepted to be formally created as an organization in England in the year 1717.
Morning Star Lodge was originally chartered by the Grand Lodge of Connecticut Ancient Free and Accepted Masons November 23, 1804 in the town of Oxford.
The Lodge contributes to Masonicare, a healthcare facility located throughout Connecticut, as well as many other local charitable organization throughout town. The Lodge contributes to the Seymour-Oxford Food Bank and also hosts a car show to benefit the Seymour High School Car Club.
The Lodge meets at 7:30 p.m. on the first Saturday and third Thursday of the month, except July, August, and Labor Day Weekend.
Membership is open to men over the age of 18 who have resided in Connecticut for the last 12 months.
