Welcome to Hartford Evergreen No. 88!

Hartford Evergreen Lodge is a Masonic Lodge located on historic Main Street in South Windsor, Connecticut whose roots date back 200 years to 1826. As Connecticut Freemasons, we are part of the oldest, largest, and most well known fraternal organization in the world, and are dedicated to making good men better by promoting sound ethical and moral values, good citizenship, community service, and charity toward all mankind. The “Three Degrees of Masonry” conferred by our Lodge are based upon the three grades of membership in the medieval stonemason guilds from which Freemasonry traces its history: Apprentice (now called an Entered Apprentice), Journeyman or Fellow of the Craft (now called a Fellow Craft), and Master Mason.

Hartford Evergreen Lodge welcomes men from all faiths, cultures, and walks of life. While Masonic Lodges are required to have a Holy Bible or other holy book or book of sacred law open upon our altars during all regular sessions, our members are free to exercise the religion of their choice, provided that they profess a belief in a single Supreme Being. And while we refer to the leader of our Lodge as the Worshipful Master, we abide by the principle that no man is better than another and that we are all equal before each other and before our chosen Supreme Being.

The requirements of membership in our Lodge are simple. Any man, eighteen years of age or older, of sound moral character, and who expresses a belief in a Supreme Being may apply for membership. However, Freemasons do not invite members to join the fraternity; their request to join must be an act of their own free will.

We encourage you to browse our website and learn more about our Lodge and our activities. If you would like to meet us and learn even more about our Lodge and Freemasonry, you are welcome to join us for dinner prior to any of our regular meetings, which we call Stated Communications. These meetings are held on the first and third Mondays of each month, with the exception of July and August and certain holidays. We gather for dinner in the lower level of our Lodge, located at 1559 Main Street, at 6:15 p.m., and our meetings, which are generally, but not always, open only to Masons, begin at 7:30 p.m.
