Wolcott Lodge No. 146 was charted on October 7th, 1978 in Wolcott, Connecticut with M.W. Grand Master Brother James M. Desmond of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut Ancient Free & Accepted Masons presiding. The Invocation and Benediction for the Charter Ceremony was given by the Reverend and Brother James W. Desmond and R.W. Brother Fred H. Lorenson serving as the evenings Toastmaster.

Installed as the first Master was WB Kenneth B. Watts of Wolcott Lodge No. 146 along with the Charter Lodge officers and 72 charter members who were present. WB Kenneth B. Watts who had previously served as Master of Liberty Lodge No. 123 in Waterbury, Connecticut was instrumental in establishing Wolcott Lodge No. 146 in Wolcott, Connecticut.

Wolcott Lodge No. 146 was named after Wolcott, Connecticut and bears the last name of a notable figure in Connecticut freemasonry and his father, both in their own right dedicated to serving their community and country.

MW Brother Oliver Wolcott, Jr. served as the 5th Grand Master of the Grand Lodge of Connecticut, served most notably as the 2nd United States Secretary of Treasury succeeding Alexander Hamilton, was a Judge of the United States Circuit Court for the Second Circuit, served as the 1st President of the Bank of North America and as the 24th Governor of the State of Connecticut.

MW Brother Oliver Wolcott, Jr.‘s father Oliver Wolcott, Sr. was a signer of the United States Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, served as the 19th Governor of the State of Connecticut, and while serving as Connecticut's Lt. Governor is credited with casting the deciding vote of incorporation of Farmingbury as a town in Connecticut in 1796. Farmingbury changed its name to Wolcott in honor of Oliver Wolcott, Sr.

Since 1996, the Kenneth B. Watts Scholarship has been awarded by the members of Wolcott Lodge No. 146 to Wolcott High School graduate(s).

There have been several fathers and sons who have served as Master of Wolcott Lodge No. 146. They include WB Clarence L. Atwood & WB Walter L. Atwood and WB Joseph A. Brenes & WB Robert A. Brenes.

On December 9, 2008, the Reverend and Brother Thomas William Mallory Jr., a 45 year member and Past Master of Kellogg Lodge No. 5, Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Connecticut was elected to serve as Senior Warden of Wolcott Lodge No. 146 making history in a A.F. & A.M. Masonic lodge. Brother Thomas Mallory served as Senior Warden in 2009 and then was elected and served as the 23rd Master of Wolcott Lodge No. 146 in 2010.

Over the years Wolcott Lodge No. 146 has met at 3 meeting locations; at the Wolcott Grange building – 313 Bound Line Road, Wolcott, Connecticut at Frederick Franklin Lodge No. 14 lodge building – 70 Main Street in Plainville, Connecticut and currently meets at East Street Eatery – 141 East Street, Wolcott, Connecticut.

In 2019, spearheaded by WM Craig P. Dumont the members of Wolcott Lodge No. 146 started an Annual Charity Golf Tournament held at Farmingbury Hills Golf Course in Wolcott, Connecticut. Proceeds raised fund the Kenneth B. Watts Scholarship.
