Valley Lodge #36 Hosts CT DeMolay  on 05/04/2023

Monday evening (5/1/2023), we were bless to have members from Connecticut DeMolay travel to our lodge and present us with a few of their rituals as well as open up a Q&A about DeMolay in CT.

It was an enlightening evening for many, thank you to the Brothers who were able to make it this evening!

If you have a boy between the ages of 12-21 (although we also learned they have programs fro as early as 9year olds) - DeMolay may be a great organization for them! Our Annual Easter-Eve Pancake Breakfast and Egg Hunt  on 04/04/2023

Join us this coming Saturday, April 8th at 9am for the return of our annual community event - complete with breakfast and egg hunts for the kids!

We've got eggs packed and ready for the bunny to arrive! Hope to see you there!

Family 5th Fridays - MOVIE NIGHT  on 03/28/2023

Join us this Friday, March 31st for the first of 3 "Family 5th Fridays" events!
Start time = 6:30pm

We'll be setting up the lodge hall as a mini movie theater, complete with a concessions stand!
Screening will be the 2009 movie "Up" - a great choice for kids of all ages, even adults!

Free admission, popcorn and drinks

Additional concessions will be available for $1 each (Pizza, hotdog, box candy)

Bring a lawn chair, bean bag, blankets - something comfy to sit on! We do have chairs that can be used, but we want you to be comfy!

Blue Lodge Council Annual Meeting - Thursday  on 03/28/2023

Feb 12th Super Bowl Party & Chili Cook-Off  on 01/30/2023

Brothers, Family and Friends!
The Teams have been decided - now you must decide which famous chili recipe you want to use for our 2023 Chili Cook-Off!

We'll have a separate movie screen playing for the kids who may not yet be interested in watching football.

Upcoming Blue Lodge Council Meeting - Tuesday January 31st  on 01/21/2023

Brothers:
The upcoming Blue Lodge Council meeting will be hosted by Hospitality Lodge #128 on Tuesday, January 31st at:
- Unity Lodge - 10 Mason Drive, New Britain
- 6:30 Dinner (Reservations required), 7:30 Meeting.

Dinner cost will be $15.00 per dining brother.  Each lodge is requested to  send to the BLC Secretary the number of brothers for whom your lodge would like to have reservations for dinner by January 24th (i.e., one week in advance) so that the host lodge has sufficient information for ordering the food. Please send your reservation request to the WM (valley36wm@gmail.com) prior to January 24th.
Passing of James Wilks Oates, Past Master of St Marks 91  on 01/21/2023
***UPDATE**** A Masonic Funeral has been requested for 3pm, January 28th, 2023. Brothers please arrive before 2:45pm.

Once again, it is with sadness that I must announce that James Wilks Oates, Past Master of St Marks Lodge 91 and member of Valley Lodge 36, passed away on January 17th, 2023 at the age of 93.
 
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 28th from 1:00-3:00pm at Hayes-Huling & Carmon Funeral Home, 364 Salmon Brook Street, Granby, CT 06035; followed by a short memorial service. At this time, no Masonic funeral service has been requested. Regardless, all Brothers are invited and encouraged to attend the memorial service at 3:00pm.
 
WB Jim Oates was Raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on 11/04/1961 - a  61 year Mason at the time of his passing. He served St Marks Lodge 91 as Worshipful Master in 1970.
 
Please join me in extending our sincere condolences to his 3 sons Paul, John, and Araron, along with the rest of Worshipful Brother Oates' family and friends.

Passing of Franklin S. Burnham, Past Master of Hiram Lodge 98  on 01/21/2023
It is with sadness that I announce Franklin S. Burnham, Past Master of Hiram Lodge 98 and member of Valley Lodge 36, passed away on December 16th, 2022 at the age of 89.
 
Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 13 from 5:00-6:00pm at Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Rd., Avon, CT., 06001. A Masonic funeral service has been requested by his wife Carol, to begin at 5:30pm. All Brothers are invited to attend the service and are asked to arrive before 5:15pm.
 
WB Frank Burnham was Raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on 06/13/1955 - a  67 year Mason at the time of his passing. He served Hiram Lodge 98 as Worshipful Master in 1980.
 
Please join me in extending our sincere condolences to his loving wife of 52 years, Carol, his 3 children Robert Burnham, Stacy Burnham Kesl, Dwight Burnham III, along with the rest of Brother Burnhams' family.
