Hospitality Lodge No. 128 AF&AM was chartered March 5, 1921.

In 1997, that lodge surrendered their charter to join with Stepney Lodge No. 133 (from Rocky Hill) to form Silas Deane Lodge No. 147. Several years later Silas Deane Lodge moved out of town, eventually settling in Newington.

For years, several brothers from Wethersfield talked about forming a new lodge in Wethersfield. Those talks finally came to fruition, and a request was made of Grand Lodge that the new lodge be granted the old Hospitality No. 128 charter, as a way to memorialize the former lodge, and to reconnect with the community.

The brothers of the original Hospitality Lodge chose the name from the nickname of the Webb House in old Wethersfield. Originally owned by Joseph Webb, the house passed to his son, Jospeh, Jr. upon his passing. Joseph, Jr. and his wife were known for the lavish parties they hosted in the house, and it gained the nickname of “Hospitality Hall.” From that, the Wethersfield brothers, in 1921, requested the name of their new lodge be Hospitality, as an homage to that Wethersfield landmark, and as well as to celebrate the welcoming nature of all Brother Masons.
