Follow Up on Traveling Gavel   on 11/30/2023

Shallotte Lodge Brethren,

I was at Federal Point Lodge this past Tuesday night and the Traveling Gavel is there. I took some pictures to share with you all, I know at the November 14t h stated that some of the brethren at Shallotte were inquiring about it. Take a look at the pics, and just a reminder here are the rules for getting the gavel from them.

"To claim this Gavel from its present host lodge, a visiting Lodge must have four (4) members present at the Lodge’s Stated Communication. Three (3) of which must current Line Officers. A non-line member equals one (1) and a Past Master equals one (1) Line Officer. If two (2) or more Lodges have the same number of members present, the “Traveling Gavel” stays with its current host Lodge.

The purpose of this Gavel is to encourage Lodge visitation and promote Masonic Harmony within the Twelfth Masonic District and to have a little fun. Brethren visit one another, have fun and display this “Traveling Gavel” with Masonic pride"

Traveling Gavel Location and Rules for getting it  on 11/15/2023

This is a followup from the Stated Communication last night at Shallotte 727. WB Peter Buswell was talking about promoting lodge visitation in other lodges in our district and did district 12 have a Traveling Gavel, If so where is it currently located, and what are the rules for getting it?

We do have a traveling gavel and it's currently located at Federal Point Lodge # 753 (417 Harper Avenue Carolina Beach NC 28428).

To claim this Gavel from its present host lodge, a visiting Lodge must have four (4) members present at the Lodge’s Stated Communication. Three (3) of which must current Line Officers. A non-line member equals one (1) and a Past Master equals one (1) Line Officer. If two (2) or more Lodges have the same number of members present, the “Traveling Gavel” stays with its current host Lodge.

The purpose of this Gavel is to encourage Lodge visitation and promote Masonic Harmony within the 12th Masonic District and to have a little fun. Brethren visit one another, have fun and display this “Traveling Gavel” with Masonic pride.

If you have any questions please don't hesitate to reach out and ask. Thanks and have a nice week.
