We are excited to announce that our lodge will be participating in a volunteer event with Feed My Starving Children on Tuesday, April 14th, at their Coon Rapids facility (401 93rd Ave NW).

Our shift will run from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM, and all participants should plan to arrive by 4:45 PM for registration and a brief orientation.

This is a great opportunity to give back to those in need while enjoying fellowship with your brothers. The work is simple, meaningful, and fun!

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our beloved Brother, Gary Winter, who died on March 25, 2026, at his home in Maplewood at the age of 83.

He was raised to the degree of Master Mason in December 2003 and remained a devoted Mason for 22 years. Brother Winter was an active and dedicated member of the Osman Shrine, where he served as Past Captain of the Osman Provost Unit and Past President of the Osman Trustees. He was also a proud member of the illustrious Mighty Mites and a recipient of the Temple Jewel. His service extended throughout the appendant bodies, including as a Past Director of the Royal Order of Jesters, a Past Master of Kadosh, and a 32°, K∴C∴C∴H in the Valley of St. Paul Scottish Rite. He was also a member of Minnesota Chapter No. 1 Royal Arch, Cryptic Council, and Damascus Commandery.

A Masonic service in his honor will be held on Thursday, April 9, with visitation at 5:00 p.m. and service at 7:00 p.m. at Washburn-McReavy Holcomb-Henry-Boom-Purcell Funeral Home, 515 Highway 96 West, Shoreview.

The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 10, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, 2499 North Helen Street, North St. Paul.

It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of our beloved Brother, James Seppala, who died on March 11, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona, at the age of 78 after a battle with cancer. Brother Seppala was the brother of Dick Seppala, a member of our lodge.

He was raised to the degree of Master Mason in November 2002 and remained a Mason for 23 years. Brother Seppala was also a Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 25, at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Tucson, Arizona.

Tusler-Summit Lodge will be volunteering at the Feed My Starving Children facility in Coon Rapids, MN on Tuesday, April 14, to pack meals for children in need around the world. This volunteer opportunity is easy, meaningful, and fun to do with a group of friends or brothers.

Springtime means it’s scholarship season. Tusler-Summit Lodge will once again be awarding $6,000 in scholarships to deserving students with a connection to our lodge, as well as to two students from Roseville Area High School.

I was contacted today by Worshipful Brother Steve Genz, who shared that near the end of December he underwent quadruple bypass surgery and also had a pacemaker installed. I am pleased to report that the procedure was successful, and he is now recovering in a transitional care unit. He is in good spirits and expressed deep gratitude for life, as one might well expect after such an experience.

Brother Genz expects to remain in the care unit for the next six to eight weeks. He would greatly appreciate hearing from you and would welcome visits, if you are able. He is currently staying at Cerenity Care Center in White Bear Lake. If you plan to visit, he kindly asks that you call ahead, as he is regularly engaged in physical therapy. Please keep our Brother in your thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery.
