January 8th for our quasi-annual chili cook-off   on 01/02/2024

Happy New Year Gentlemen,

2024 is upon us, with that I am inviting every brother and potential candidate to join us on January 8th for our quasi-annual chili cook-off.

Those intending to compete, please bring a pot of chili to pass and utensils to serve with. Those who wish to pass judgement and enjoy an evening with their brothers, please bring a bowl and spoon!

We will plan to begin eating at 6:30.

On January 22nd, we will be holding a third degree. York College will again be performing the ritual work. The first half of the degree will begin at 5:30, then dinner, followed by the second half. Dinner is $15. I would like a strong showing to welcome our newest brother Garrett Bitker into his third degree!

I hope everyone had a pleasant and happy holiday season!

Dues Payment  on 01/02/2024

Dec 23, 2023

Subject: Dues Payment

Dear Brothers,

This correspondence is to clarify a topic that has caused some confusion-timely dues payment. In calendar year 2023 dues were $148; for CY2024 the cost has increased slightly to $152.

Currently several Brothers are showing a deficit of $300 on the Grandview computer system. This number is a combination of CY2023/2024.

In the past, the Lodge Secretary sent out annual notification of dues via the postal service with a “blue envelope” to return payment. In the spirit of progress, we now have two methods of payment. You can either contact the Lodge Secretary, Marty Zinsli (507-383-4724), to determine your payment or you can go online and pay your dues with a credit card.  Be aware that if you pay online, you will charged a small convenience fee of a couple of dollars.  You can even pay on a monthly basis.

To utilize the second method of payment, you must activate a Grandview account. If you are having difficulty firing up your account, contact Marty and he can walk you thru the simple process.

Remember, your dues are the life blood of a functioning Lodge and we cannot continue to practice our “gentle art” without your fiscal support. God bless you, my fellow Brothers, and have a wonderful Christmas.

Fraternally,

David Hofmaster
