| As I compose this newsletter my thoughts are with the MHCO population. I am with Murphy knowing he is going to be cared and supported. The children come to the MHCO with destroyed mentally, spiritual, and physical beings. Their recovery requires time patience and overcoming loneliness. As I compose this newsletter our Lodge is going to support summer camp for the MHCO population. As we may see the usual members at the stated communication, the need is huge compared to our ability to donate. If lives are changed by this expression of love, then our sacrifice is not in vain. Any contribution is never to small. Please send your contribution with the designation of funds to MHCO summer camp. Your contribution will be sent to this worthy need. Brethren
Our next Stated Communication will be on September 3rd, a meal will be served at 6:30 PM. We need to have a strong attendance at this meeting so we can begin planning for our annual Golf Tournament. We all need to help sell Hole Sponsorships. This is a very vital part of our revenue for this event.
As you know, the tournament will be on October 18, 2024, and we have a lot of very important items that we need to decide. As you may remember from last year, we were short of manpower and had it not been for Mike Mooney’s daughter and her boyfriend and the help of two members of the Kenly Lodge we would have had a mess. It is for this reason we need to decide, whether to serve a meal, who is willing to get out and sell hole sponsorships (last year we raised $7,900 from Hole Sponsors) and quite honestly, whether to have a tournament at all.
I hope the later will not be the case. Last year we were able to send $4,859.15 to the MHFC, $4,859.14 to the MESH and $500 to the NCMF. Come on Brethren, let’s get her done. See you on the 3rd..
Fraternally,
Grover Dees PM
Assistant Secretary
PS: We have 12 members who have not paid their 2024 Dues. PLEASE, we need you.
Mail your check for $236 to Selma Lodge #320, 405 North Pollock St., Selma, NC 27576.
Brethren
Please note that Ellis Morris' wife Clara is now under Hospice care. Please keep Clara and Ellis and their family in your prayers.
Grover
