Richmond Lodge received its charter on January 4, 1866 from the Grand Lodge of Michigan. Free Masonry is one if not the oldest Fraternities in the world. Our Montra is “To make good men better”. Our lodge services the communities of Richmond, Armada, and Memphis Michigan. Our beliefs are to work on Faith, Hope and Charity. We are not a religious organization we accept men of different faiths. But we do practice a belief in a Deity.

First and foremost we are a fraternity that does a lot of charitable work for the communities we service. A few examples are each year we offer a $500 grant to each of the school district in the communities we service. Teachers submit letters to us on how they would use the money. We then present the checks at a school board meeting. For 2026 – 2027 school year we are increasing the amount. Another one is our “Books for Bikes “program at the elementary school. If a 3rd grader reads ten books and submits book reports in a certain time period we reward them with a bicycle. We also sponsor the local Cub Scout Troop in Richmond.
To pay for these programs we do fundraising. A few of the more popular ones a bowling event with raffle prizes donated by the members. All you can eat pancake breakfast on the Sunday morning of the Richmond Good Old Days Festival from 8 – 11:30.
