Brethren, I just wanted to take this opportunity to Honor those Men and Women that made the Ultimate Sacrifice in defense of our Great Nation. To too many Americans, this is just a long weekend, the beginning of summer, and reason for a Cookouts and Partying. We as Masons, (many of you, we're also willing to make that sacrifice) should never forget the real and somber meaning of this holiday. It is our duty to remind those around us that this is the time to remember those Heroes, and Honor their memory. God Bless their Families and God Bless those that have and are still serving. You and your Family's Sacrifice, will never be forgotten. Fraternally, Robert "Banzai" McLaughlin Jr. Person Lodge #113, Master |

Person Lodge #113 November 21, 2024 Dear Brethren, I hope this message finds you well. I am pleased to share some wonderful news and important updates regarding our lodge and upcoming events. First and foremost, please join me in congratulating and welcoming our newest brothers: Christopher Bradley and Jackson Bradsher, who were raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason this past Saturday, November 16, 2024. This significant event was a resounding success thanks to the dedication and hard work of our members. It also could not have been possible without the assistance of several brothers from Eagle Lodge #19, Eno Lodge #210, and Worshipful Brother Tray Boone, DDGM, of Oak Grove Lodge #750. Their support and willingness to extend a helping hand exemplify the true spirit of Freemasonry. Let us warmly welcome our new brothers as they embark on their Masonic journey with us. In the spirit of reciprocating support and spreading brotherly love, I encourage everyone to join me in attending Eagle Lodge #19 in Hillsborough at 1:00 p.m. this Saturday, November 23, 2024. Eagle Lodge will be raising five (5) brothers to the sublime degree of Master Mason, and following the degree, they will graciously host a catered dinner. Let us come together to support them and share in this momentous occasion. Additionally, I invite you to our next stated communication on Tuesday, November 26, at 7:30 p.m. This will be our second-to-last meeting of the year, and I look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible. Lastly, a reminder about our upcoming Annual Family Dinner, which will be held on Saturday, December 14, at 6:00 p.m. The meal will include salad, steak, and baked potatoes with all the fixings. The cost of the meal is covered by the lodge, but to ensure we can accommodate everyone, we kindly ask that members RSVP by December 7 with the number of family members attending. Thank you for your continued commitment to our lodge and the principles of Freemasonry. I look forward to seeing you at these events and continuing to strengthen the bonds of our brotherhood. Dear Brothers of Person Lodge No. 113, I am reaching out today to ask for your assistance with a situation that has affected my elderly neighbors. Yesterday morning, October 15th, at 2 a.m., their home was devastated by a fire, which tragically claimed the life of their beloved cat, Olivia. Thankfully, they made it out safely, but the fire was determined to be caused by an electrical issue, leading Duke Energy to pull the meter. As a result, their home is now uninhabitable until extensive repairs can be made and approved by inspection. I have opened my home to them while we work toward finding more permanent, comfortable accommodations. The American Red Cross has provided a $640 allowance for immediate emergency expenses. Unfortunately, all handicap-accessible hotel rooms in Roxboro are currently booked, adding to the challenge of ensuring they are properly cared for during this difficult time. I am reaching out to our Lodge to see if anyone has knowledge of resources or can offer assistance to help this couple, who have treated me like family since I moved to Roxboro. Any support, whether in the form of lodging, financial aid, or connecting us with services, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for being a beacon of hope in our community and for your continued dedication to brotherhood. If you are able to help in any way, please don’t hesitate to contact me at 828-443-8843 or replying to this message. Fraternally, Adam Michael Cockerham, Master Person Lodge No. 113 |

Dear Brothers of Person Lodge No. 113, I hope this message finds you safe as we endure the effects of Tropical Storm Debbie. It is crucial that everyone takes the necessary precautions during this time. Please prepare for potential flooding, high winds, possible tornadoes, power outages, falling trees, and flying debris. When it is safe for you to do so, I encourage you to check on our elderly brothers, their families, and our widows. It is vital that we come together to support one another during this challenging period. |
I have volunteered to provide emergency coverage at work through the weekend and will be working 16-hour shifts through Monday. If you have a need for relief or assistance and cannot reach me, please contact another brother as soon as possible. Let us keep our first responders in our thoughts and prayers, especially those on the front lines providing emergency medical services, tree removal teams, electrical linemen, and law enforcement. |
Thank you for your vigilance and unwavering support of each other during this time of inclement weather. Fraternally, Adam Cockerham, Master Person Lodge No. 113 |

Dear Brethren of Person Lodge No. 113, I hope this email finds you well and that everyone enjoyed a safe and joyous Fourth of July holiday. This holiday is a significant reminder of our shared values and freedoms in the United States, and it's a time for reflection on the importance of unity and community. We are pleased to invite you to our next stated communication, scheduled for Tuesday, July 9th, 2024, at 7:30 PM. Prior to the meeting, there will be a meal prepared by Brother Christopher Bradley at 6:30 PM. The menu will feature Cheeseburger Pie, String Bean Casserole, and Cobbler for dessert. Please confirm your attendance at the dinner so that we can ensure an appropriate amount of food is prepared. Dear Members of Person Lodge No. 113,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to inform you of an important update regarding our Stated Communications schedule, as well as to provide some urgent reminders and requests.
Firstly, I am pleased to announce that the proposed by-law change to return to our original Stated Communications on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month has been officially approved by the Grand Lodge. This change will take effect starting in the month of May. Therefore, there will NOT be a Stated Communication tomorrow, Tuesday, April 23rd.
However, I encourage any available members to join us tomorrow at 6:30 pm for practice related to our upcoming Fellow Craft degree, as well as to assist with the planning of our Fish Fry Charity Event. Your participation in distributing tickets and planning the event is crucial to its success. We aim to sell 1,000 plates this year, and your support in reaching this goal is greatly appreciated.
Regarding the Fish Fry, please note the following:
- Members who wish to purchase boxes of fish must reserve them by tomorrow, April 23rd, at 4:00 pm. Each member may reserve up to two 10-pound boxes of flounder at $45 per box, with proceeds benefitting our charities.
- Payment for reserved boxes must be made by May 3rd. Any unsold or unpaid boxes will be returned to the supplier for credit after the conclusion of the fish fry.
- This year, boxes of fish will be available for purchase by reservation only to streamline the process and maximize our charitable contributions.
Additionally, we will be holding a clean-up day on Saturday, April 27th, at 9:00 am in preparation for the Fish Fry. Your assistance on this day is invaluable, and we look forward to enjoying lunch and fellowship together afterward.
Thank you all for your unwavering support and dedication to our community and charitable endeavors. Your commitment to making a positive impact is truly commendable.
Fraternally yours,
Adam Cockerham, Master
Person Lodge No. 113
Dear Members of Person Lodge No. 113,
Just a friendly reminder that our next stated communication is tomorrow at 7:30pm. Before that, Brother Thomas Bradsher will be hosting a taco and salad dinner at 6:30pm. Please RSVP for the meal as soon as possible so that he can plan quantities accordingly.
Additionally, our lodge needs your assistance with the upcoming fish fry on May 3rd. Brother Banzai still has around 500 tickets to distribute and needs help filling positions required to run the event smoothly. Please reach out to him with your availability and willingness to serve.
As we approach the fish fry event, we'll need to schedule a clean-up day. Please stand by for more details on when this will take place. To encourage engagement, we're planning to have burgers and ice cream after cleanup duties.
We encourage everyone to attend tomorrow's stated communication and dinner for much-needed fellowship. We'd love to see many familiar faces. If you haven’t attended in a while, please resolve to do so. There are plenty of seats available and many brothers eager to fellowship. Looking forward to seeing you all there!
Fraternally yours,
Adam Cockerham, Master

Dear Members of Person Lodge #113,
It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of our esteemed brother, Worshipful Brother Charles Woodard Boyette (C.W.). WB C.W. Boyette peacefully departed this life shortly after 8:00 pm yesterday, surrounded by his devoted family.
Worshipful Brother C.W. Boyette was raised to the sublime degree of Master Mason on Tuesday, May 16th, 1961, in Person Lodge Number 113. For nearly 63 years, he dedicated himself to the principles and fellowship of Freemasonry, leaving an indelible mark on our lodge and our hearts.
His unwavering commitment and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. As we mourn his passing, let us remember his beloved wife Alice, his son WB Norman, and the entire family in our thoughts and prayers as they navigate through this difficult time of loss.
In accordance with WB C.W. Boyette's wishes, there will be no Masonic Rites. However, a memorial service will be arranged at a later date, and further details will be communicated as arrangements are finalized. Dear Members of Person Lodge #113,
I hope this message finds you well and you are enjoying a wonderful Valentine’s Day. As we continue to uphold the values of fellowship and camaraderie within our esteemed lodge, I am excited to introduce a new initiative aimed at fostering deeper connections among our members: the Battle Buddy Program.
The Battle Buddy Program seeks to reinforce our bonds of brotherhood by assigning volunteers to regularly check on and provide support to their fellow brothers. We are seeking eight dedicated volunteers who are willing to commit to this noble cause.
**Responsibilities of Battle Buddies:**
- Each volunteer will be assigned approximately 10 members of our lodge.
- Volunteers will be responsible for checking in on their assigned members at least once per month.
- Upon their check-ins, volunteers will provide a brief report on the status and well-being of their assigned members.
The purpose of this program goes beyond simple communication; it is an opportunity for us to embody the principles of brotherly love and support that lie at the heart of our fraternity. By spreading the cement of brotherly love and affection, we strengthen our sacred bond and enrich the lives of each member.
If you are passionate about fostering stronger connections within our lodge and are willing to dedicate your time to this meaningful endeavor, I urge you to step forward and volunteer for the Battle Buddy Program.
Please reply to this email by February 29th, 2024 if you are interested in serving as a Battle Buddy. Your commitment to this program will help us continue to thrive as a lodge and uphold the values we hold dear.
Thank you for your time and consideration as we endeavor to strengthen the bond of all of our brothers at Person Lodge #113.
Fraternally yours,
Adam Cockerham

Brethren,
I hope this message finds you safe and dry. As this inclement weather continues to challenge our courage and wisdom, we've decided to cancel the Stated Communication scheduled for this evening. This includes the delicious meal that Brother Jeff Norman prepared. Please take this opportunity to spend time with your families if you can. If we decide to reschedule our Stated Communication to a later time in accordance with Regulation 45-2, section 5, due and timely notice will be given.
Thank you all for your support and be safe.
Fraternally,

Brother Secretaries,
I am writing to ask for assistance from your lodge for an upcoming degree conferral. Mosaic Lodge #762, AF&AM Carrboro, NC will confer the Master Mason degree for one candidate on the morning of Saturday, May 20 at 10 AM (refreshments, fellowship @9). We will be raising James Rippe Jr., the son of our sitting Master, James Rippe Sr. The younger Brother Rippe has had a challenging path through the degrees with Army boot camp and AIT adding challenge to learning his catechisms and scheduling his degrees. We look forward to having an excellent MM degree for him. To this end, we are soliciting some help from other lodges in the local area.
We have brothers signed up for all the speaking roles but we need to fill the other nine Fellow Craft roles, the Searcher(s) and the Canvas Committee. We would like to associate actual names with all the open roles, so if you could ask brethren in your lodges to email Keith Morgan, j.keith.morgan@gmail.com to volunteer for one of the open roles. We will have two rehearsals we are scheduling for this degree, optional for the nonspeaking parts but you are welcome to attend – Tuesday, May 2 at 7:30 PM and Tuesday, May 16 at 7:30 PM. The May 2 date is a rehearsal only, while May 16 is our May Stated Communication, at which Bro. Rippe Jr. will return his Fellow Craft catechism as our only order of business, with the rehearsal following immediately after the close of the lodge.
It is always nice to have a good turnout for a degree so your members who don’t volunteer to help as a Fellow Craft or on the Canvas Committee are invited to attend the degree to help welcome Brother Rippe to full participation in Masonry.
We welcome all masons belonging to lodges recognized by the Grand Lodge of North Carolina to participate or just attend this degree. We particularly invite our brothers belonging to Prince Hall Affiliation lodges under the Grand Lodge of North Carolina, PHA to participate and/or attend.
Mosaic meets in the lodge building of Mt. Olive Lodge, PHA, at 703 W. Rosemary St., Carrboro NC. Parking can be challenging to find in downtown Carrboro and the parking lot of Mt. Olive lodge is partially rented out, so we encourage carpooling.
If you have any questions, please contact me – Keith Morgan, 919-599-2180 by phone, text or email at j.keith.morgan@gmail.com
Fraternally,
Keith Morgan
