The season of giving is upon us, and we have a special opportunity to make a meaningful impact this Thanksgiving. Tribe Recovery has graciously offered to provide all the turkeys for our community outreach, but we need your helping hands to bring this event to life! Let’s unite to serve our community and make this Thanksgiving memorable for those in need.

Here’s how you can get involved:

1. Turkey Preparation
We need volunteers to cook the turkeys between November 21st and November 22nd. Once cooked, the turkeys must be deboned and returned to Tribe Recovery by November 23rd. Your kitchen could be the starting point of a warm, comforting meal for someone who needs it!

2. Flyer Distribution
Please help us spread the word! From November 21st to November 23rd, volunteers are needed to distribute flyers around the neighboring area of the Aid Center and Tribe Recovery Homes. A simple act of handing out flyers could be the difference between someone having a Thanksgiving meal this year.

3. Event Day Volunteers
On Saturday, November 23rd, 2024, the big day arrives! We need a strong team of volunteers to help pass out meals and bring joy to the community. This is where the magic happens, and your presence will make all the difference.

How to Get Involved

Please reply to this message or contact one of the committee members below to confirm your availability. Whether you can cook, distribute flyers, or assist on event day, every effort counts and brings us closer to our goal of a successful outreach!

Let’s show the true spirit of service, and together, we can make this event a great success. Your time and effort will help brighten someone’s Thanksgiving, and we are truly grateful for your participation.

Updates:

Breast Cancer Awareness Event:
Brother Osler and Brother Briscoe's breast cancer awareness event on July 27 was a huge success. They partnered with Denver Health and many other organizations to raise awareness about the importance of breast cancer screening within the community. Kudos to both of them for their efforts! We look forward to the event next year.

Upcoming Events:

1. Sixth Annual White Party:
   A reminder that this Saturday, August 3, we have our sixth annual White Party.

2. David L. Holliman Scholarship Award:
   We are pleased to announce that the David L. Holliman scholarship has been awarded to Mr. Jordan Johnson. He plans to attend Metro State University in the fall as part of a special program for African American men pursuing careers in teaching. We wish him much success in his academic journey.

3. 148th Grand Lodge Session:
   Our Lodge will host this year’s 148th Grand Lodge session during the second week of August. We encourage everyone who can attend to join us. Key events include:

   • Cookout at Cook Park: Saturday, August 10, starting around noon.
   • Hospitality Suites: Saturday, August 10, starting at 7 PM at the Courtyard at 1475 S. Colorado Boulevard.
   • Lodge of Sorrows: Sunday, August 11, at the hotel.
   • 
     

We would like to see everyone come out and meet, and we are looking for volunteers to help with both the cookout and the hospitality suite.
