Brothers, I hope this note finds you all well. I have had a number of you ask me about going dark or rescheduling the July 3 meeting given that the date is next to July 4. After consulting with Secretary Euliss and reviewing the bylaws, the answer is that we cannot go dark or reschedule the meeting. As some of you may remember, last year we did go dark in July and at our August meeting an amendment to the bylaws was offered, and passed by a majority, that we could not go dark and the only way to move a meeting was if it was on the exact day of the holiday. Personally I would like to reschedule, but unfortunately that is not an option available to us. It is something in our bylaws we will revisit at a future meeting. It is important that we do meet because we have three entered apprentices that need to give their catechisms. Please come out on July 3 at the usual time and support them. If you have any questions or comments, you can email me at bpedigo@townoflibertync.org or call or text 919-260-9070. Best regards, Bret, WM |

Greetings and Happy New Year! I’m excited to start a new year and I hope each of you are also. It’s time for our regular monthly meeting of Liberty Lodge 714 tomorrow (Thursday), Jan 2nd, 2025. As usual, we’ll have a meal at 6:30 followed by our meeting at 7:30. Our newly elected officers have been working to prepare for a great year, and I hope you will join with me in supporting them and their efforts. Worshipful Master Bret Pedigo has already put a lot of effort into his agenda, and we need to support him. Be prepared, he’s bringing back the $20.00 attendance challenge. So every time we have 20 or more, he donates $20.00 with a challenge for members to match that (not $20.00 individually, but as a whole). So come on out and let’s get his $20.00. He’ll discuss plans for that during the meeting. He has already worked on committee list for the year and is ready to make those appointments. He’ll be posting an agenda during the year so we’ll know what’s going on. Our meal this month will be grilled or fried pork (haven’t decided which), green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls, dessert. Look forward to seeing you all there! Sincerely and Fraternally, |

Fraternal Greetings ! Our monthly meeting is upon us! Thursday, November 7th, our regular monthly meeting will be held at Liberty Lodge 714. We hope you will be able to join us for this important annual meeting. On the agenda for this month – report on NPDs, election of officers, report from building and grounds on sidewalk, a wrap-up of the roof replacement, and other business as may come up. We will have a meal at 6:30 consisting of meat loaf, mashed potatoes, lima beans, salad, rolls, and dessert. Thank you Larry and Peggy Shoffner! We look forward to seeing you there. Fraternally, Roger Euliss, Secty. A well known speaker started off his seminar holding up a $20.00 bill. In the room of 200, he asked, "Who would like this $20 bill?" Hands started going up. He said, "I am going to give this $20 to one of you but first, let me do this." He proceeded to crumple up the $20 dollar bill. He then asked, "Who still wants it...?" Still the hands were up in the air. "Well," he replied, "What if I do this?" And he dropped it on the ground and started to grind it into the floor with his shoe. He picked it up, now crumpled and dirty. "Now, who still wants it?" Still the hands went into the air. "My friends, we have all learned a very valuable lesson. No matter what I did to the money, you still wanted it because it did not decrease in value. It was still worth $20. Many times in our lives, we are dropped, crumpled, and ground into the dirt by the decisions we make and the circumstances that come our way. We may feel as though we are worthless. But no matter what has happened or what will happen, you will never lose your value." "Dirty or clean, crumpled or finely creased, you are still priceless to those who DO LOVE you. The worth of our lives comes not in what we do or who we know, but by WHO WE ARE." "You are special, don't EVER forget it." |

Fraternal Greetings! This is a friendly reminder that our regular monthly meeting of Liberty Lodge 714 is tomorrow evening (Thursday, September 5th). We’ll begin with a meal at 6:30 and meeting to follow at 7:30. BBQ, slaw, hushpuppies, potato salad, rolls, desert, and drink. We have a few items to cover not the least of which is finalizing plans for Saturday morning’s 3rd degree for Bro. Michael Poplin. We have a proposed bylaws change to consider, Grand Lodge code changes, a report on roof project, and other such business as may come up. We’ll also examine Bro. Poplin on his 2nd degree catechism. Then please don’t forget that we are having a 3rd degree on Saturday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m. We’ll enjoy a hearty breakfast before we get to enjoy seeing Brother Michael Poplin raised by his father, Bro Ronnie Poplin. He’s excited about this event (and maybe a little nervous) to be able to participate. We all know it takes a lot for a proper 3rd degree, so come and help us bring Brother Michael to ‘further light’. We look forward to seeing you all there! |

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! Even though we didn’t have a stated meeting in July, it was still a busy month. We had our annual family cookout, we passed Brother Michael Poplin to the degree of Fellowcraft, and we began receiving donations for our roof replacement project. Now its time to get back to our regular business. This Thursday (8/1/2024) will be our August stated meeting. We have a few things to catch up on. We have received the draft of the proposed amendments to the code (there are 14), we will have a by-laws change to read, we’ll have an update on where we’re at with our roof replacement project, correspondence, and other business that may come up. As usual we’ll have a meal at 6:30 and the gavel will drop at 7:30. The meal this month will be spaghetti and meat sauce (made by Pam), bread, salad (with lots of stuff to go on it), drinks, and of course some wonderful deserts constructed by Karen McDaris. I hope you’ll be able to come and join us and support your lodge officers. See you there! |
Fraternal greetings!
This is the final reminder that Liberty Lodge 714 will have their stated meeting tomorrow (May 2nd). On the menu this month is steak, baked potato, salad, bread, drink, and desert by our own Karen McDaris. If you have not already done so, please let me know if you will be there for the meal. The meal will be our usual $10.00 and will commence at 6:30. The gavel will drop at 7:30. We need to set a date for a 1st degree for Mr. Michael Poplin along with a date for a practice. We’ll have an interesting educational program about the winding stairs, in addition to our usual business. Look forward to seeing you all there!
Fraternally,
Roger Euliss, Secty.
Liberty Lodge 714 stated meeting Thursday, June 1st. Meal at 6:30 and lodge opens at 7:30. Come on out and enjoy the fellowship.
STATED MEETING TONIGHT AT 7:30. MEAL AT 6:30.
Brothers,
This message has a two-fold purpose. First, it is my first attempt at sending a message through the new membership management system - GRANDVIEW. Second, the 24th District Traveling Trowel went to Hanks 128 Thursday. Their next meeting is this coming Monday (4/10/23). Let's bust the seams and see who can go get it. If you think you can go, please let me know so I can let them know. I don't want them to get caught short on food. They are planning baked spaghetti, salad, toast, drink, and dessert. Meal begins at 6:30 with meeting to follow. The DDGM and possibly the DDGL will be making his official visit.
