| Brothers, 2nd notice: We have two new candidates entering into our lodge. We need to prepare, now. Worshipful Master Don Collins has made practice meetings available, on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm and Saturday mornings at 10:00 am to accommodate everyone's busy schedules. Pick a time that works for you, or let us know another time that might work better. Of the 63 Master Masons and 10 Honorary Members in our lodge (73 total), we had only 2 attendees, WM Don and Doc Hough. 2.7 %. We're hoping this coming Saturday at 10:00 am will be better. Mentorship for Upcoming EA Degree on 09/13/2026

| Esteemed Brothers, We are blessed to have new candidate(s) entering into our lodge, and we need to properly prepare ourselves to conduct their degrees. That means ritual recitals from memory and not reading from books. A brother's first impression of Freemasonry is how we conduct their EA degree, and we want to make it the best 1st experience possible for them. To achieve that, our Worshipful Master Don Collins has requested that we attend mentorship meetings, available on Thursday evenings at 6:00 pm and Saturday mornings at 10:00 am every week, in lodge, until we hold our EA degree sometime in October, and then Fellowcraft and Master Mason degrees sometime there-after. These mentorship meetings will be scheduled in our lodge calendar. We have a lot of work to do brothers. Please let us equip ourselves to meet the requirement. We have 63 Master Masons and 10 Honorary Members in our lodge. We want as many of you to participate as possible. You all have something to offer. Please brothers; we need to make this a priority. | Good News, Brothers, Our Grayling Lodge #356 Grandview Portal has a feature that allows you to pay your membership dues or donate to our lodge using your credit or debit card. All you need to do is sign up on line to the Grandview website. Instruction for everything is shown here-in. Your payment will go directly to Grand Lodge, and they in-turn will automatically deposit the funds into our Lodge checking account. There are extra fees associated with this which will be included in your total transaction. (ah, convenience always has a price.) It is still acceptable to pay via cash or check. Brothers, At the request of our BGP, WB Kevin Friddle, I am posting this late notice: We (at Alcona Lodge) have scheduled a District picnic for August 15th at 2:00pm. It will be held at Alcona #292 in Lincoln. PGM William Sauget will be attending for the purpose of presenting WB Doug Toska his Masonic Achievement award. (WB Toska was unable to attend the annual meeting). Feel free to bring a dish to pass, burgers and brats will be provided. Bring your own beverages if you would like something other than water! WB Kevin Friddle BGP added: Families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Casual attire burgers/brats provided. Some will bring a dish to pass. PGM’s William Sauget and Eugene Abittico will be attending, for the purpose of awarding PM Doug Toska (Tawas) his Masonic Achievement award. (He was not able to attend Grand Lodge). He was a Master Mason for 61-1/2 years and served in both Houghton Lake Lodge #579 and Grayling Lodge #356 as Worshipful Master and nearly all other offices. Visitations: Friday, May 22nd, 2026 4:00 to 7:00 pm & Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. at Christler Funeral Home Houghton Lake Chapel. Funeral Services: Saturday, May 23rd, 2026 2:00 pm at Christler Funeral Home Houghton Lake Chapel. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake. |

Brothers of Grayling Lodge, UPDATE: Due to lack of response and short notice, Grayling Lodge's participation in this event is cancelled. I wrote the following to WM Wilker and Sec. Bell, Wolverine Lodge #484, Lincoln Park, MI: Dear WM Wilker, Secretary Bell, This is Mark Keyser, Secretary of Grayling Lodge #356. We have just learned this evening of Brother Jesse C Potts' passing. There will be a funeral service for him at Sorenson-Lockwood Funeral Home here in Grayling, on Tuesday, July 8th, 2025, at 1:00 pm. We fraternally request that members of your lodge support a Masonic Service as his family has requested. We at Grayling are trying now to identify brothers in our lodge who might be available to support this, but many of our brothers are away this month. | Brothers, Please be advised Grayling Lodge #356 will conduct a Memorial Service for Brother Dewain Hall this coming Saturday June 14th, 2025 at Michelson Memorial United Methodist Church located at 400 E Michigan Ave in Grayling, MI. Please meet at the church at 10:30 am or earlier, not later, for preparation. Brothers are encouraged to wear a black suit and black tie if you have them. Otherwise, a suitcoat and tie are acceptable. Please bring your own white gloves. The lodge will provide masonic aprons. Memorial Service will begin at 11:00 am. Should be finished by 12:30 pm. |
