| Good morning brethren, First off the subject MAY...BE we will get a break? was just a little fun play on words. Let me start by saying YOUR LODGE is ON FIRE!! Jan, Feb, Mar, and April have been FULL of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd degrees! Along with the stated meetings, the emergent communications, and the practices, we have been enjoying some REALLY GREAT MEALS ALL FRESH MADE by our junior warden WB and PM Jason (chef boy r dee) Kerns! If you have not been to one of our Saturday breakfasts, please come visit us for one!!! Dates and times are always posted on the Conover Lodge Facebook page, as well as the 34th district page. I will also begin sending out one of these emails prior to the breakfasts! COME FELLOWSHIP WITH YOUR LODGE! In the months of April and May alone we have had a new petition, an affiliation, a 1st degree and 2 3rd degrees! Our current pipeline and member status looks like this: 2 prospects 1 petition awaiting 1st degree (most likely the 2nd stated in June) 3 Entered apprentices 1 Fellowcraft We have 112 Master Masons, and 13 Honorary members If you have not been to lodge in a while, just show up. If you are worried you wont know anyone at lodge, remember, you cant meet them from your couch! If you forgot the pass we have it for you. | Brethren, Conover 709 enjoyed another family and community breakfast Saturday morning! We served from 7am till 11am, and served about 50 plates! Stay tuned for our next breakfast! As we drive on into 2025 we have a LOT of work ahead! We currently have 3 Fellowcraft, 2 Entered apprentice's, 1 petition, and 3 other prospects in the pipeline currently. We have not seen numbers like this since Covid! Brethren, you are ALL part of the greatest fraternity known to man, i would implore you who have not been to lodge in a while, to come join us for some fellowship, a great meal and a meeting. We will confer the 1st degree next Thursday April 24th at 7:30 meal at 6:30, and if you have not heard, Chef Kerns has been whipping up some fantastic meals at Conover 709! | Brethren, Please make plans to join us at YOUR LODGE, this Saturday morning April 12th from 7am till 11AM (or till we run out of food) for our Community / Family breakfast. This was a GREAT EVENT in February when we did it! Don't worry if you have not been to lodge in a while, if you have forgot the pass, YOU WONT NEED IT FOR BREAKFAST. The purpose of this breakfast is to fellowship, and spend some time with our families and friends, and also to EAT! ! SO, Bring a friend and come on down! | What a GREAT MEAL at Conover 709 by our JW WB Jason Kerns! Veggie pasta, Cajun season shrimp and chicken with Parmesan cream sauce! If ya didn’t know, NOW YA DO! Come on out and visit! It was a busy night last night in the lodge as well, we had two brothers who gave back their first- degree catechism, and then we proceeded to do a triple 2nd degree, Along with our regular stated business, it made for a late night, but it was a great success! We had about 35 for the meal and about 28 for our regular stated meeting last night! Conover Lodge is alive and well! We currently have 8 people in our pipeline for membership! THAT IS HUGE! | As we move through March at Conover 709, we are happy to say we just initiated Brother Scott Dues, and Brother Keenan Denning! We are readying ourselves for more degrees to follow as we have one more EA to initiate! Looking at the pipeline, we currently have 6 entered apprentices in the works, which is STRONG.YOUR LODGE IS ALIVE AND WELL.. As you should already know (as put out on the phone tree) we lost 2 brothers over the past few weeks, WB Ted Icard, and Brother Richard Garis. Brother Garis had moved away and was not able to attend lodge because of his distance and progression in his cancer. His wife contacted me and wanted Masonic rites in Virginia where Bro. Garis will be buried. After contacting the Grand Lodge of Virginia on Tuesday, and multiple phone calls, i was able to get Donna (Richards widow) in touch with Cindy Crew at GL of VA who was able to make this happen in just 2 days as Bro.Richard will have his ceremony tomorrow. YOUR LODGE'S attendance has really grown, in part by the GREAT MEALS Chef Kerns (WB Jason Kerns our JW) is preparing! If you have not been to lodge in a while, you should come visit! If you are worried about coming to lodge because you have forgot the pass, WE HAVE IT FOR YOU! We will be having a raffle for 4 BEAUTIFUL HANDMADE quilts made by Mrs. Sylvia King. Tickets will be $5 each, and we will be getting them out very soon! We are going to have or Conover Family / Community breakfast again on April 12th from 7am till 11am. We do a SUGGESTED $10 donation for the meal. I promise you wont leave hungry! Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, biscuits and gravy, grits, coffee, OJ, and GREAT FELLOWSHIP! | Good afternoon brethren, Next stated communication TOMORROW Feb 27th at 7:30 PM, meal at 6:30 PM We will receive the DDGM and have a great night of fellowship.. YOUR lodge has been hard at work this month! We have hosted our fellowship breakfast, been practicing for upcoming degrees, and examined our newest Entered Apprentice Bro. Corbin Gibbs on his 1st degree catechism, which he committed to memory in just 6 coaching sessions! He's either super smart or has a GREAT COACH!, maybe a little of both! We are having our annual Masonic Lodge Blood drive March 7th at the library (Conover station) in Conover from 1pm to 6 pm, and we have 35 open spots. If you would like to donate blood, please reach out to me directly at 828-320-4405 and i can help you get set up with an appointment. We have a 1st degree for 2 candidates coming up on March 13th, meal at 6:30 degree at 7:30 as well as a 2nd degree coming up on March 27th, same meal and degree time. We are planning a Past Masters degree for sometime in (probably) May for Bro. Gibbs. YOUR lodge is alive and well! We are asking the the brethren keep the following brothers and families in their thoughts and prayers, WB Fred Sherrill, who has been dealing with leg issues. | Good afternoon brethren, Just a short note to let you all know about our first family and friends breakfast at YOUR lodge. This past Saturday, the breakfast team consisting of WB Jason Kerns, Myself, Bro. Eddie Swift, and Mr. Keenan Denning, who has just petitioned the lodge, whipped up 15 dozen eggs, 15 Lbs of bacon, 135 sausage patties, 2 gallons of sausage gravy, rice, 25 biscuits, Coffee, OJ, sodas and water. We started serving at 7:30 am and finished at 10:30 am. We served upwards of 60 people ranging from the Shrine club Gator patrol, brothers from other lodges, wives, kids, friends and family. It was a GREAT MORNING of fellowship where people were actually talking to one another as opposed to staring into their phones!! If you missed it, stay tuned for next months breakfast and we hope to see you there! Also 2025 dues are due. If you have not paid them please remit them. You now have the option to pay on line. If i have your email on file, you should receive a dues notice with a link that will get you to the Grand Lodge payment system, its SUPER SIMPLE to navigate, or you may still mail your check in, keep in mind we DO NOT HAVE A PO BOX ANY LONGER.. | Brethren, Conover Lodge will be having a FAMILY breakfast THIS SATURDAY, February 8th. We will start serving breakfast at 7:30 until 11:00 or until we run out of food whichever comes first!. If you have not been to lodge in a while, come on and join us for a great time of fellowship, and enjoy a great breakfast! Bring yourself, bring someone with you, everyone welcome. We are suggesting a $10 donation per person for the meal. Meal will consist of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, biscuits, gravy, rice, orange juice, coffee water, and sodas. | Good afternoon brethren, First and foremost, i want to thank each of you for your continued support of YOUR LODGE. As we enter into 2025 and prepare for a busy year, let's look back at a few of the happenings of the lodge in 2024. At the close of 2024 YOUR LODGE reported the following membership totals: 114 Master Masons 3 Entered apprentice 12 Honorary members. We had a positive gain of 2, and a negative of 4 lost to passing away. The brethren we lost are as follows: Larry Millsaps William "Bill" Biles WB Robert "Bob" Matheson Clarence Pitts Your lodge gained 3 honorary members, who are as follows: WB Frederick H Cloninger Esq. (Cookeville 502) Brother Brian Wiseman (Hickory 343) And Brother Anthony Williams (Hickory 343) YOUR LODGE participated in the downtown Conover Halloween Boo bash festival, and handed out somewhere in the neighborhood of 50 lbs. of candy to the trick or treaters. and the Christmas in Conover event where we gave a warm space to Santa so the kids could take photos with him! YOUR LODGE made a $1500 donation to the Conover school, and the same amount to Sipe orchard home for the great work they both do RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN BACK YARD! Gentlemen, YOUR LODGE is ALIVE AND WELL! Looking forward for 2025, my hope is that we can inspire those of you who have not been to lodge in a while, to come join us for a great meal, some fellowship, and get you back in the mix. If you have forgotten the pass, NO WORRIES, we have it for you, If you don't have a ride, we might be able to come get you, If you are worried about not knowing anyone at the lodge, I can assure you that you wont meet them from your couch.
