February 8, 1868 - The 1st meeting of Alma Lodge #244 U.D. was held in the Ellison building at the corner of State and Superior Streets.  The Worshipful Master at this meeting was a Brother named Thomas Bamborough, an employee of Wright Barton Lumber Company.  The regular meetings were held on Saturday evenings before the full moon at 6:30 in the winter and 7:30 in the summer. 

January 15, 1869 - The lodge would officially receive its charter from the Grand Lodge of Michigan.

January 15, 1886 - The lodge changed the meeting day to Friday.

October 3, 1887 - A new Masonic hall was dedicated in the Church block of Alma.  Annual rent was set at $125.

December 7, 1889 - Committee appointed for membership to the Michigan Masonic Home Association

May 10, 1911 - The lodge approved intention of purchasing the Lancashire property on State Street for a new temple for $2500

June 7, 1911 - The Masonic Temple Association was the name adopted for use with this new property.

October 22, 1913 - Bro. Lawrence S. Montigel became the 244th member of Alma Lodge, a celebratory banquet was held.

August 29, 1917 - A motion was passed to exempt members form dues who are in active duty military service and to care for their widows & orphans.

July 17, 1918 - The lodge held its first communication at the former Opera House at the corner of State & Superior.

December, 1962 - It was announced that Central National bank and the Masonic Temple Association would combine forces and build a new facility at the current location, State and Center. 

April, 1963 - Ground was broken on the new building.

April 13, 2019 - A sesquicentennial celebration was held at the lodge building downtown featuring dinner and a rededication ceremony led by Grand Master David M. Hill
