Brethren, Please see the below minutes. Fraternally, Sky Olsen 505-269-2039 ____________________________________________________________________ MINUTES OF ALBUQUERQUE LODGE #60 7-10-2024 Lodge was opened in regular communication on July 10, 2024 at 7: 13pm with 12 members and 1 visitors and the following officers acting in their respective stations and places: WM WB Tim Cummins SS Bro SW Bro. Andrew Montoya JS Bro Kirk Johnson pro tem JW Bro. Matt Rader Marshal Bro Brandon Dunlap SD Br Tristian Ortiz Chap Antonio Ortega JD Br Gil Morales Tyler Bro Evandro Oliveira Treas RWB Wade Villanueva Sec MWB Jeff Johnson pro tem After opening and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Marshal Brandon, WB Tim welcomed everyone. No sickness nor distress was announced. Brandon Dunlap announced the birth of a niece. By a slim majority, the lodge agreed that he might be a good enough uncle. Minutes from June were approved with the addition that the lodge had voted to move $5000 from investments to the checking account. Treasurer’s report was approved as distributed and checks were to be written for insurance and rent. Communications were summarized as follows. Carson House Museum newsletter showed a government grant to improve the courtyard which will drain water away from the walls. This grant accomplishes the reason for gifting the museum to a charity and begins their ability to obtain future funding. DeMolay Conclave invitation for late July was read. Letters from Masonic Charities announced a one-time $500, non-matching, opportunity for lodges too small to have matching money available; that the matching amounts available were raised from $5000 to $10,000 per year; and James Overfelt announced that there would be an additional $5000 match available for the Ruidoso fire victims. [Norm Ribble went to Ruidoso to document fire results and says that 90% of the area was unaffected and that only one swath of damage was pictured.] Committee reports were received from, Ritual stating that practices had not been attended but were needed; Finance & Building was referred the additional task of deciding how to utilize the Malpais building; education Andrew said he had another program almost ready and he was reminded that he should invite others to present programs and rely on others to research also. Brandon volunteered to do a presentation he had prepared. Visitor, MWB Adam Hathaway spoke about the Tyler’s position and the new announcement that the Grand Master and others encourage lodge to always have a Tyler outside the door for security. Adam spoke at the end of the meeting as Potentate, giving an update on how well the Shrine is doing in membership drives. This years inductees will also join for free and finances of the Shrine are stable. He said he was horrified to learn that we had been admonished not to use the kitchen. He assured us that Albuquerque 60 has full access to the kitchen anytime we need that for our meetings.
Lodge closed at 8:30 pm peace and harmony prevailing.
